Santa Catalina terminal, in the north of the city. Two different "towns". Las Canteras beach and the Santa Catalina district are walkable from the berth. Vegueta, the historic old town with the cathedral, is roughly 4km south and needs a bus or taxi. Almost every "best of Las Palmas" list points at Vegueta without saying it isn't walkable from the ship.

Did you know?

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has stories most visitors walk straight past.

  • 1

A cathedral reviewer notes visiting on a Sunday meant only seeing the interior from the door because mass was on. Religious sites and Sundays need their own flag across all the Iberian ports.

  • 2

La esquinita is the rare Spanish place open at 09:00 and closing at 16:00, which maps almost exactly onto a port day. And it's shut Mondays and Tuesdays. That single line is the guide.
